2014 Converter Meeting Invitation

Dear TLMI Converter Member:

One of the most used and published buzzwords in our industry today is ‘sustainability.’ The quest for sustainability is everywhere and permeates every level of the supply chain. While best sustainability practices should be a priority for any company, what about the old school fundamentals that literally ‘sustain’ our businesses every day? The theme of the TLMI Converting Meeting March 9-12, 2014 at the Resort at Pelican Hill in Newport Coast, California, is Old School Sustainability: Raise revenues. Reduce costs. Have a plan. Over the course of two days, presenters and thought leaders will take us on a journey that will bring us back to addressing some of the most critical fundamentals in sustaining business growth and success.

Monday morning’s session will feature Terri Sjodin, principal and founder of Sjodin Communications. The title of Terri’s presentation is “New Sales Speak,” and in it she will address the common mistakes people make when selling their products and services. Terri’s unique specialization is advancing the persuasive presentation skills of professionals and her clients include Fortune 500 companies, industry associations and academic institutions. Her expertise has taken her to the United States House of Representatives where she served as a keynote speaker addressing hundreds of Congressmen and Women.

Also presenting at the morning session on Monday will be Cameron Herold. For 20 years, Cameron has been coaching entrepreneurs on five continents, helping them build their companies. As Chief Operating Officer, Cameron took 1-800-GOT-JUNK? from just over $2 million in annual revenues to $106 million in less than seven years, with no debt or outside shareholders. Cameron has a unique understanding of growing companies having led business areas from operations to marketing, from public relations to strategic alliances, and from sales to call centers. Building a successful brand and high growth business isn’t about personality or luck; it’s about having the right systems in place. The title of Cameron’s presentation is “Building a World Class Culture,” and he will give us the framework and proven solutions that accelerate revenue and build profitability while showing us how to build the most supportive and effective culture possible inside our own four walls.

Presenting at both sessions on Tuesday will be Dr. Marshall Goldsmith, a world authority in helping successful business leaders get even better by achieving positive, lasting change in behavior for themselves, their people, and their teams. Recognized by The London Times and Forbes as one of the “15 most influential business thinkers in the world;” Dr. Goldsmith has worked with over 120 Fortune 500 CEOs and their management teams. During his first presentation, Dr. Goldsmith will discuss employee engagement. After the morning break, he will return to deliver a presentation on succession planning. Directly following Dr. Goldsmith’s second presentation, Shawn Six from Industry Insights will provide an update on the TLMI Ratio Study.

Join us at the 2014 TLMI Converter Meeting to hear experts engage us in revisiting some old school business fundamentals, to ensure our business success will be sustained well into the future.

Sincerely,

John Crosby
